Travel Advisors Are Not Magical

But for some we can feel like a fairy Godmother! I've been traveling recently, learning more about creating wonderful experiences for groups. Because of my hectic schedule leading up to my trips I have found myself realizing while I unpack my stuff that I bring way to much of one item. For my current trip I have enough undergarments to last at least a month! While my mom may be proud that I will never be caught with dirty 'unders' I really could have used one or two extra shirts.

Packing cubes are a must when I travel!
Packing cubes are a must when I travel!

More importantly, I once again forgot my camera battery charger. Yes, I can use my cell phone- but after lugging my camera across the country in my carry-on at the expense of my shoulder, I really want to make sure I use it!

Thank goodness for delivery services and internet! I was able to replace the battery charger - with a cool new battery that I can charge with a USB cable. It was a little more out of my budget - but I will use it more often than a location souvenier - so I feel it was a meant to be mistake.

I also forgot my brush. This isn't the first time that I have traveled and forgotten things. I try to use a packing list, but sometimes that just isn't an option.

So - how does this all fit under the heading of not being magical? Well, let's say this was you on vacation. You can call me and I can make arrangements to get you what you may be missing. Now, isn't that handy? I can also help with a packing list for your trip that will remind you to bring things like brushes, batteries and phone chargers.

OK - those are minimal annoyances and easily overcome. But let's say you are traveling overseas. You have your group all ready to go and someone injures themselves to the point that it is either cancel the trip, or scramble to find accessible hotels, excursions and transportation. A travel advisor can make this all a small bump in the road instead of a huge mountain that you would have a hard time overcoming, and more importantly, could make your injured traveler feel like a burden.

The world is all about discovery. Everyone deserves the opportunity to learn and seek out places foreign to them. It really does help with emotional stress - or at least it should. An adivsor has access to 'business development managers' at suppliers locations. The partnership we form with them can not be found on an internet search. We can make accommodation arrangements and feel secure that our clients will get the comfort and experience they expect.

Moreover, we have networks of other agents that we can contact who know the destination! Again - not magical - and although I love to travel I haven't been everywhere - but someone I know has!

Now, this first hand knowledge and experience is magical! I can give you honest first person information on staff, quite areas, accommodations (both physical and mental), food prep and transportation assistance.

Doesn't that sound like a better way to go? This way, when you travel your only worry needs to be what you packed, or in my case, what I forgot.

Now - to go to the hotel lobby and see if they have a brush in their convenience store!

As always - take the trip - life is too short to not explore as much as you can!
