Notes Along the Way

There are weekends that leave you tired.

And then there are weekends that leave you hopeful.

The Abilities Expo in Chicago was one of those weekends.

For three days, I had the privilege of meeting families who are determined to keep exploring the world together, no matter what challenges they face. Parents shared dreams of taking their children on their first cruise. Couples talked about wanting "just one more trip." Adults living with disabilities described the places they've always wanted to see but weren't sure were possible.

Again and again, I heard the same message:

"We don't need everything to be perfect. We just need someone who understands."

I also had the opportunity to experience some of the newest assistive technologies firsthand—from innovative power mobility devices and adaptive equipment to non-verbal communication tools and therapies that are helping people live fuller, more independent lives. Seeing these advances reminded me that accessibility isn't standing still. Every year, new solutions are making travel—and life—a little more possible.

One of my favorite parts of the weekend was talking with occupational therapists, physical therapists, healthcare professionals, students entering caregiving careers, equipment specialists, and advocates. Every conversation reinforced something I've believed for a long time: when we work together, we create possibilities that none of us could create alone.

I was also honored to be interviewed by Independence First, the Abilities Expo, and ABLE Financial Services. Opportunities like these help spread the message that accessible travel isn't a niche—it's an opportunity for everyone to experience the joy, connection, and confidence that travel can bring.

As I drove home, I realized something.

My job isn't simply to book vacations.

It's to remove obstacles before they become barriers.

Sometimes that means finding an accessible hotel room. Sometimes it's arranging wheelchair assistance at an airport. Sometimes it's helping a family understand what accommodations are available before they ever leave home. And sometimes, it's simply listening long enough to understand what will make a traveler feel safe, comfortable, and confident.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, or simply share a piece of your story with me. Those conversations remind me why I started Limitless Travel in the first place.

I'm already looking forward to future expos, community events, and new partnerships. Every connection helps me become a better advocate and a better advisor for the families and travelers who place their trust in me.
